Optimal Power was engaged by Secure Energy JV to deliver large-scale labour and construction support for the Buronga Substation build, mobilising to site in August 2023. What began as a 10-person team grew rapidly as Optimal Power proved its capability on site — scaling to 30 personnel within a month, and peaking at 62 construction workers during stage one of the project.
The project required close coordination across multiple trades and disciplines to meet tight energisation deadlines, with crews working weekends, public holidays and night shifts as needed. Optimal Power's teams also supported the client's commissioning crews through testing and verification of all installed equipment — ensuring a smooth transition from construction to energisation. Stage one was partially energised in August 2024, with Optimal Power crews remaining on site to complete final stage one works and continue into stage two.
